Telangiectasia and Spider Naevus
Telangiectasia and Spider Naevus—also commonly referred to as red veins, spider veins, thread veins, or broken capillaries—are small, visible blood vessels that typically appear on exposed and delicate areas such as the nose, cheeks, and chin. These vascular blemishes often develop as a result of trauma to the skin, including environmental exposure, hormonal changes, or underlying sensitivities.
While they are harmless, their appearance can be distressing. Fortunately, Advanced Electrolysis offers a highly effective treatment to visibly reduce or eliminate these veins. With the correct aftercare and an understanding of what contributes to their formation, further damage can be prevented following treatment—helping to protect the skin and maintain clearer, more even-toned results over time:

Required Treatment for Telangiectasia and Spider Naevus:
Treatment aims to restore the previous appearance of the skin.
Following advanced diathermy treatment, you can expect to see a 60-80% improvement in the appearance of your thread veins depending on your age, health and lifestyle. See above ‘Causes of Vascular Blemishes’ button to learn what lifestyle changes can be made to help reduce the likelihood of further trauma.
Your initial appointment will include a full consultation and, where appropriate, a 15-minute treatment. It is important that no more than 15 minutes of Advanced Diathermy is carried out during your first session. This allows Carrina to observe how your skin responds and heals, ensuring a safe and effective approach tailored to your individual needs.
Vascular blemishes cannot be fully cleared in a single session. Typically, a minimum of two additional treatments will be required, though this may vary depending on factors such as the location and size of the area being treated, your skin type, and your skin’s response to the initial session.
During your appointment, Carrina will carry out a thorough consultation, clearly explaining the treatment process, managing expectations, and recommending a personalised treatment plan designed to achieve the best possible outcome.
Longer bespoke treatments can be discussed at the time of consultation.
Initial Consultation - £25
15 minutes Advanced Diathermy - £50

Campbell De Morgan and Cherry Angioma
Large blood spots on the body, head, or scalp are commonly referred to as Campbell de Morgan spots. These are harmless vascular blemishes that can appear suddenly and increase in number with age. Although they are medically benign, their appearance can cause concern or embarrassment—especially if they are in highly visible areas. Fortunately, they can be safely and effectively removed using Advanced Electrolysis (Diathermy), offering both cosmetic improvement and peace of mind.
Cherry Angioma are smaller vascular blemishes that also present as bright red or dark red blood spots on the skin. They can range in size from a tiny pinprick to the size of a small coin and are usually found on the torso, arms, and face. While cherry angioma are not painful, they can occasionally bleed if scratched or irritated, which may cause discomfort or anxiety. For many, their visibility—especially when located on the face or areas difficult to conceal—can become a source of self-consciousness.
Carrina offers targeted Advanced Electrolysis treatments to remove both Campbell de Morgan spots and cherry angioma with precision and care. These treatments are quick, minimally invasive, and yield excellent cosmetic results, allowing clients to feel more confident in their skin.

Skin Tags
Skin tags are benign, harmless growths that vary in size, shape, and how they are attached to the skin. Often soft and flesh-toned, they tend to develop in areas where the skin experiences regular friction—such as the neck, underarms, bra line, groin, or beneath jewellery and clothing. Technically referred to as fibro-vascular papilloma, skin tags become increasingly common with age and are estimated to affect nearly half of the population.
While skin tags pose no medical risk, they can cause discomfort, irritation, or embarrassment—particularly when caught on clothing, jewellery, or during shaving. If they are affecting your self-esteem or mental well-being, Advanced Electrolysis offers a safe, quick, and effective method of removal.
Carrina provides expert removal of skin tags using precision diathermy, allowing you to restore comfort and confidence in your skin with minimal downtime.

Required Treatment for Skin Tags
Skin tags can easily be removed in a single treatment of diathermy. There are 3 methods of removal created to treat and remove even those in hard to reach places. In most cases the results are instant.
Your initial appointment will include a thorough consultation and, where appropriate, a 15-minute Advanced Diathermy treatment. To ensure the highest standard of care, no more than 15 minutes of treatment will be performed during this first session. This allows Carrina to carefully assess how your skin responds and heals, creating a safe and effective treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs.
When it comes to skin tag removal, a small number of tags can often be successfully treated in a single session. However, if you have a larger or more densely populated area, multiple sessions may be required to achieve the desired results. The number of treatments needed will depend on several factors, including the size and location of the area, your skin type, and how your skin responds to the initial treatment.
During your appointment, Carrina will guide you through the entire process, explain how the treatment works, manage expectations, and recommend a personalised plan designed to deliver the best possible outcome with comfort and confidence.

Milia
Milia are small, white, pearl-like bumps that form just beneath the surface of the skin. Commonly found around the cheekbones and eye area, they occur when sebum or keratin becomes trapped within a blind duct that has no natural opening. Although completely harmless, their appearance can be frustrating—particularly when they persist despite exfoliation or skincare.
Advanced Electrolysis offers a highly effective method of removing milia with minimal trauma to the surrounding skin. Unlike manual extraction, which can risk bruising or scarring—especially in the delicate eye area—electrolysis allows for precise targeting with a reduced risk of damage and a quicker healing process.
Carrina uses refined diathermy techniques to safely and gently treat milia, helping restore clarity and smoothness to the skin with confidence.
Required Treatment for Milia
Unlike manual extraction, which can irritate or damage delicate areas, Advanced Electrolysis offers a safer, more refined approach. Carrina’s technique ensures a comfortable experience with excellent cosmetic results, helping to restore smooth, clear skin.
Your Initial Milia Appointment
Your first appointment will include a full consultation, along with the possibility of a 15-minute Advanced Diathermy treatment. For your safety and comfort, no more than 15 minutes of treatment will be carried out during this initial session. This allows Carrina to assess how your skin responds and heals, ensuring the most appropriate and effective approach moving forward.
During your consultation, Carrina will explain the treatment process in detail, manage expectations, and—if multiple blemishes are present—advise on a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Longer, bespoke treatment sessions can be discussed and arranged based on your skin’s response and the extent of the area to be treated.

Hairs in Moles
While mole reduction is not currently offered at Stella Carina Electrolysis, permanent hair removal from moles can be safely and effectively performed using Advanced Electrolysis techniques.
If you have unwanted hairs growing from a mole, electrolysis is the first essential step—and, in fact, any mole reduction procedure elsewhere would require this to be done beforehand. Treating hairs in moles with electrolysis not only improves the appearance but also ensures that the area is stable and no longer supported by the blood supply feeding the hair follicle.
Over time, as the follicle’s blood supply is permanently disrupted, some moles may even reduce slightly in size or flatten in appearance. However, it is important to note that this is a potential secondary effect, not a guaranteed outcome.
Carrina will begin with a thorough consultation to assess the mole, explain the treatment process, and ensure suitability. If needed, written consent from your GP may be required before any mole hair removal can proceed, in line with best practice and client safety.
